Now I didn’t go into this thinking that it was going to be stunning literature or anything like that but it was definitely hard to put down (I finished it in two sittings). So it really had me for a while but then out of nowhere it started getting mildly corny? It held itself up but I swear the end reminded me of the end of Charlie and the chocolate factory with that voiceover that ends up being an Oompa Loompa????? And it’s all like happy and mildly existential for no reason… that’s what the last chapter of this was like… like it was winking at me ..
