Anne of the Island

One of the best things is to evidence the growing up of Anne. How childish dreams and manners are replaced with more matured ones. And discovering that Prince Charming conjured up in one's head does not have to become reality...that true love does not follow imagined idols.

4 stars since some chapters I just wanted to skip, there were episodes and characters thrown in totally randomly.

I'm annoyed that this is considered a wholesome classic when there is so much child-bride grooming and rape culture. But with that understanding and an appreciation for a period piece, it's still great story telling with some long overdue satisfaction from the previous books.

Not the best Anne Shirley story so far in the series. Felt that it was a big broken up and didn't flow throughout the years as well as the others.
