Short novella with a unexplained fantasy plot. I expected more from it. The novella let me with more questions than answers.

Stephen King’s Elevation was a fast paced novel, absolutely worth the read. This is a one sitting read (and only 146 pages) but it packs a full and powerful narrative into such a short space, clearly speaking to King’s mastery for writing. Though not necessarily a horror (although, if you’re afraid of heights, this may count as one), this story still encapsulates the essence of King’s storytelling, and proves that he is not just the king of horror, but of writing overall. His character are well flushed out, there are deep emotions throughout, and he maintains his streak of social justice, as I’m sure we all expected. While there are definitely convenient moments, this Castle Rock story is so short, it’s forgivable. With its simple and bizarre concept, it’s nothing but enjoyable
