I truly think the books in this series build. I loved the first book and I loved this one even more. I read it in just about a day it was amazing. It is dark and trying and a little sick but so addicting.
okay so what happened - the Triad made it to rescue Scarlet. Elliot started out thinking she was the mole but came around and is very kinky. There was a three way between Tristan, Sebastian, and Scarlet. New safe house as a present Tristan and (more so) Sebastian brought Scarlets bff Kenna there. Scarlet’s cousin is back from Romania and being groomed to run the family business. They schedule a meeting. Turns out Elliot was right he was kinda a double agent on that. Boom not cousins - siblings. Massacre in the front yard. Finn who likes Kenna takes a bullet for her. The brother tried to take Scarlet with the Dad and Sebastian gets shot twice and kills their dad - dead. Cliff hanger: will Sebastian and/or Finn live. AND the brother wanted to be on Scarlets side but he couldn’t yet because of their dad. He was planning to let Scarlet kill him but Sebastian did it now. And now the brother can’t stop a war from breaking out between the family and the Triad since they killed the family’s leader. <spoiler/> I am devastated that the next book isn’t out until April so I can read it. I truly cannot get enough of these books.

I read this soooo quick omg it was so good. I’ve literally been waiting for MONTHS for this book to come out after the cliffhanger we got in the first book and I’m so happy this is finally here.

We get introduced to some new characters in this book and I have so many questions, honestly, probably more questions than answers but Dana does want me to keep reading so am I shocked, no. Anyways, we are introduced to Motshan and this man really came in and brought 50 questions. I need his pov and I need it now thank you. We also see some of the Triad’s men who I would LOVE to see more of, I’m looking at you, Niko and Finn.

Scarlett is just as badass as ever. While she is dealing with the trauma that she’s gone through over the past few weeks she bounces back and is resilient as ever, honestly, my goal is to be like her. And the boys, as amazing as ever and I’m trying to find my own on Amazon. They start to get a bit jealous of each other in this book which I’m kinda a fan of. I feel like all the RH I’ve been reading have the boys 100% fine with everything so it’s nice to see a change of pace with a bit of possessive, jealous conflict.

The sexy scenes were out to play this book oh my lord. Like I’m pretty sure it was half the book and I’m definitely not complaining. After my patient waiting for a certain 3rd Triad member to come around to Scarlett, I was rewarded and boy did he come all out…. you see what I did there. ANYWAY, this book definitely has more sexual kinks in it than the last one so get ready for a fun time. Also the group scene… holy. While we won’t get a foursome just yet we do get a threesome which was very entertaining.

Like I said there was a ton of smexy time happening but there was also action. Most of the action is at the beginning and the end so if you’re looking for that the entire time you won’t find it in this book but there is certainly another kind of action happening in place of ass-kicking action. This book does end on a cliffhanger like the previous book and oh my god was it a cliffhanger. Like my jaw dropped and I was shook. I did expect something like this to happen but I was still shocked. The way I will be on Dana’s Instagram every day looking for updates on the third book after the trauma she just inflicted with this cliffhanger.

If you’re looking for a dark organized crime romance I would definitely recommend this one. It’s fast pace with loveable psychos and a whole lot of smut, what else could you want?

Thank you, Dana and TalkNerdyPR for an advance reader copy. The advanced reader copy in no way affects my views as all thoughts and opinions are my own.
