We all know I'm a sucker for fantasy and sci-fi by now.
But this was beyond even my expectations.

The beautifully done metaphors that spanned the entire books, the depth of foreshadowing, the connections of the characters - flawlessly done.
I will be making this book a core piece of my repertoire as a teacher. It has so much potential for learning: space, constellations, light, music, creative writing... my ideas as I read were practically never ending.
But arguably more important is its capacity for emotional discussion. The empathy this book teases out of the reader, the curiosity, the questions... even a reluctant reader would be hard pressed not to be clinging onto every word.

I loved this book. You don't get much science fiction for children and this is great

This book was such a pleasure to read. It has adventure, action, and just a little of romance, which was my cherry on top. S.F Said made me flip through the pages as soon as I started reading this beautiful novel. Science-Fiction is not my regular pick, but it was worth it! At first, I was a bit apprehensive because of how many pages there were, even though this was not the first time I've a book this long.

The creativety in this story, is also mind-blowing for me. I loved the world they lived in, and all of the futuristic themes. The astrolabe was a very complex thing to imagine, but I loved it, too. All of the pictures in this story were absolutely stunning! They made read on, as I knew that they would come every few pages.

I liked the ending but not really the journey to the ending. I've never really enjoyed books with a lot of travelling in them. I love the idea of the stars being linked to humans and the whole story between Axxa and Human past. The art work by Dave McKean was amazing, added an atmosphere to the story.

This book is so beautiful, and I'm a sucker for pretty books. Probably would have enjoyed it more if I was the target audience i.e. children
