My time is limited and I could be reading more exciting and engaging books. So far this year I've read some fantastic books, and this isn't living up to them unfortunately. The characters and story line were so boring. I decided to look up what happened in the end. It sounded really interesting, oh well. It's a shame I wasn't intrigued enough to keep listening...

Four women who have been best friends forever decide to go on a vacation with their families together. On the vacation though Kate suspects her husband is having an affair with one of her best friends but finding the truth might be more than she bargained for..

The Vacation is a domestic thriller by T.M. Logan. Unlikable characters, secrets ,lies and betrayals with some twists made it an interesting read for me though I did feel the ending was a little rushed.

I would like to thank St. Martin’s Press & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I really enjoy TM Logans books. This one was a slowly paced but I enjoyed it because it felt like I was on holiday.

When Kate discovers things about her husbands affair and thinks it may be one of her two friends that is on holiday with her.

The pace picks up at about half way through and is even more exciting at this point.

I thought the interactions between the kids and the interactions between the adults was interesting and I was constantly watching for potential signs as to who was having the affair.

I wasn't expecting the ending as it was and I was shocked by the very end, I thought it couldn't get any more interesting but it did.

This was a definite thriller, I only wish that I would have felt more connected to the characters. For what ever reason, I just was not able to connect with a single one of them.

Many thanks to Netgalley and St Martin's Press for this advanced readers copy. This book is due to release in July 2020.

So…firstly, this book is way too long. Secondly the main character is frustratingly stupid for an “investigator”. Thirdly I hate all the characters.
However it did have me wanting to read it constantly and I did finish it in 24 hours. So there is that. I have given it 4 stars here but I’m unsure whether it deserves it or not…

I am always a sucker for this kind of writing. One that puts me on the edge and has be gasping. LITERALLY gasping. And also, I hate hate hate when something wrong happens with innocent kids in a novel. I mean, yeah it's thrilling and I'm not saying I hate books with that. It's just sad. So, when it's revealed after an episode of crying for no reason that the kid is actually safe, the relief I feel is incredible. And that's the thrill. That thumping of my heart. Loved it.
