Another amazing book by Harlan Coben who is quickly becoming a favorite author. While this book stands alone, I love that it had some small ties to my last Harlan Coben read, The Woods. I love the way this story unfurled, the different layers of the mystery being exposed through, for me, what felt like perfect pacing. The main character is likeable and I found myself absolutely rooting for and empathizing with Nap (which is what I also found with Cope when reading The Woods). The book was engaging, with moments where I was totally caught of guard, moments that kept me guessing and questioning, complete with eliciting audible gasps and all. Secrets, lies, misdirects, and a satisfying conclusion, this book has it all. The ending was so well done - so interesting and surprising. Truly outstanding narration by Steven Weber in the audiobook version. Highly recommend for mystery/crime fans.
