A good intro got me into the book, but the characters and the ending fell flat for me. This wasn't bad, but it was pretty weird and I had difficulty suspending reality. Nap's incessant talking to his brother was grating and there wasn't a single likeable character. I don't feel like any of the characters were that well developed but I didn't predict the ending at least.
A fast read and the clues were there but I missed them and was surprised by the ending.

As always, an excellent stand alone thriller from thrill man Harlen Coben. Nap is a cop who plays by his own rules, sometimes this means breaking a few rules. When the fingerprints of the love of his life turn up at a crime scene, he starts investigating what happened one night in the past. The night his brother died.
Very well written and keeps your guessing till the last. I am so glad that I discovered Coben a couple of years ago. His ability to reach deep into the human psyche and pull you into a world that you wouldn't normally escape to is uncanny. People are dying to cover up a secret from the past...will you work the conspiracy before Nap does???

One of my favorite authors. Coben is so relaxing to read, it’s easy to just enjoy the ride, knowing that you’ll be in good hands the whole way through. This stand-alone was particularly enjoyable because although I figured it out halfway through the book, I only did so because Coben dropped the right hints. Not much more fun than comfortably following hints left by a master thriller writer. Four and a half stars.
