Out of all the books so far, this one was the best. This one gives me some hope that the rest of the series isn't going to be awful. There is still a lot I hated about the book. Again, there is a lot of repetition. That's the hardest part for me. I absolutely hate how the same scenario and sentences are repeated over and over. Had those been cut out, it would have been 200 pages shorter.

"I’d become the queen the world didn’t know it needed. If they thought they could hunt me down and end my life, I’d show them what broken things could do when cornered."

"You were born to lead, and you know it as deeply as I do. You’re not the queen of nothing and no one. I believe you are the queen of everyone, even without adding my title to your name. You’re the queen of chaos, and I suspect you’re the one who’ll save us all, Aria.”

Now, my love for Aria has been at the forefront of the reason why I even continued this series. And this one? She finally shows her fangs. She grew from book 1 to book 2 and even in book 4. But this one, she grew even more. She spread her wings and showed her true fire. God, I absolutely love her!!

There were a lot of revelations in this one. There are so many betrayals as well. It was a book filled with so much going on, and honestly, I loved it. Arias father was not a surprise. I knew she was special, but her mother, oh God, poor Aria. She really has suffered.

"You both are empty, pathetic creatures who live in the past and can not be bothered to see the future. At least you won’t need your ghosts to rule you anymore because now the council and their vote will dictate your life. Maybe it already is, though. They voted me out of our marriage, and you allowed it to happen. They voted to put me down like the rabid bitch my mother says I am, and you let them do that, too.”

Again, I'm not a fan of Knox. I still hate him, but I'm starting to understand him a bit. He didn't really grow in this one. He's still a pathetic, arrogant, piece of crap, but he got his head out of his ass a bit. Not nearly where I feel he deserves Aria. But I do feel for what Hecate did to him and his family. It's crappy.

I definitely will read book 5. I truly hope the next book will be better than this one and continue the good parts that this book brought about. I have so much love for the plot line in this. There are a lot of characters that I love. And one I still really hate, but the story is good and complex in areas. I'm looking forward to seeing what Aria is going to do, especially after all the loses and betrayals.

We finally got some solid character/plot development in this one! I was getting annoyed with Knox and Arias repetitive distrust of each other
and thank god they’ve finally grown up and moved on!
I will say I am impressed by the plot development as well. Since we’ve moved beyond focusing on Knox & Aria the story has picked up!

Amelia definitely didn’t miss a beat with this book. It was amazing and beat all of my (very high) expectations. I can honestly say this book destroyed me mind body and sole and times somehow while making me love every minute of it!!
