Interesting and detailed though I got the feeling that a lot of the details were made up.

I don't really know what to say about this. It's incredibly sad what happened to innocent people. Not even the Tsar needed to be killed, just as Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI didn't truly need to be killed for their French Revolution. I think what got to me the most is my past with this topic. See my review of Rappaport's [b:The Romanov Sisters: The Lost Lives of the Daughters of Nicholas and Alexandra|18404173|The Romanov Sisters The Lost Lives of the Daughters of Nicholas and Alexandra|Helen Rappaport|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1396818138s/18404173.jpg|26038032] for my past with the Romanov family and their horrific end.

This is a straightforward, not very sentimental retelling of the last days of the Imperial family. While I thought the author did a good job of synthesizing material, I don't see very much here that is new.
