Well, now I just finished this book and I’m dying to read the next!!! The characters are engaging, the partnership between Reed and Steinberg screams “opposites attract tension.” However, what I’ve come to love about #JessLourey is the setting of time and place in her thrillers. Think what attracts watchers to Strangers Things, it’s the nostalgia of the 80’s in the suburbs. The way children played unaware of the dangers surrounding the vulnerable, that you never think will come to pass. Well, in the city, yes, but not in your town.
Each book I’ve read is twisted, surprising, and weirdly believable that events like these happened or could happen. I personally used to play in the woods with other kids, never really thinking it was a risk. I just had to be home by dinner. Her books tap into that false sense of security and then Wham!

4/5 stars. I enjoyed this one a lot. I did a mix of listening to it and reading it on my kindle. I love that it reminded me of an episode of like SVU or a true crime documentary. So much going on and it kept me wanting more. I know it’s probably bad to say, but I love the fucked up problems/issues. Like Van’s past growing up on the farm, I wanted more!! I felt the overall plot was great and the ‘who murdered’ was really interesting and different! I also enjoyed the different POV. A good mystery/thriller on Kindle Unlimited!

This is one of those books that you don't want to stop reading! I was supposed to be packing for vacation but had to finish the book before I could do anything.
