This is one of the first mystery books I have ever read. I think this genre just is not for me. I cared more about the characters themselves rather than the plot. I think for someone who enjoys mystery this would be a good read. There were some parts that were really funny and I enjoyed the banter between Calder and Charlotte. However, I did find Calder to be a very bland character. I wanted to know more about him in the way we knew so much about Charolette. My favorite part was the ending, but in the beginning I had a hard time staying interested. I think this book just wasn't for me!

An adorable retelling to the Sherlock Holmes universe by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Honestly, I was quite a bit sceptical about reading this book, as I find them usually kind of boring and pretty much the same as every other book so it was a pleasant surprise to see that this wasn’t the case. Lottie and Jamie are literally one of the best soulmates I’ve seen in a book. Personally, I’m completely fine with them being friends or a couple, for they complement themselves nicely without the need for labels.

Nevertheless, this is one of those books you’ll only continue reading if you’re interested in the relationship development which I’m sadly not interested about but I do think that in the near future I’ll like to know more about hipster Watson, oxy-addict Holmes, and Mario Kart.
