I like the curmudgeonly mouse and the fantastical plot that brings him out of his shell; good illustrations too!

I love this one!
I can't help it, every time I read this book I hear John Oliver's stoic British delivery and imagine that the mouse narrating the book is actually John Oliver trapped for some reason in mouse form.
Alas, that only makes it more entertaining for me. 😂
This book is great fun.

Eh! Some very charming elements, but I think the whole thing would have been more cohesive and easy for kids to understand if we got a page or two introducing us to our narrator, and why he wants to be in a boring book where nothing happens. Just a page where he's on his lonesome, appreciating the white space!

A bespectacled mouse is determined to have absolutely NO fun in this book, and his plans to stay bored are very quickly challenged. This is a cute read that will make kids and adults giggle.
