4.25⭐️ this book was enjoyable and I would probably buy the next one in the series for actual money if I can't find it at my library. I would suggest my spouse read this, but would tell him honestly why he might like it or not.

A perfect historical romance. Seriously, I finished chapter 1 and was like oooh this book is going to slap. Read it in less than a day. I recommend you read it immediately.

I really loved this angsty, hot class-difference enemies-to-lovers romance. It’s very emotional and the conflict and character development is expertly done. It also has one of the best opening chapters I’ve read in a long time- hooks you right away.

I enjoyed this book very much. I didn't have high hopes for the hero (he was the *worst* brother ever in the first book and needed a lot of context to rehabilitate his character).

Would absolutely recommend!

This was absolutely terrific. Beautifully drawn characters, finely tuned setting details, and an alpha hero who was the villain of the previous book. Will automatically read whatever Louisa Darling writes.
