This was...not good.
I should have abandoned this book when on the first page I read the line “Shit,” Jefferson said, the word vaporizing in the chill, condensing into the ghost of the sibilance which churned up and away from his chattering mouth"

This just was not well done. I agree with other reviewers, the book had me in the first half, but then quickly down slides both is writing and plot.

The first half sets up the book like there's going to be this reveal in the end, but it just never comes. It turns into just a really lame Creepypasta that feels like it needs to be edgy to be cool.

No real story telling or plot or moral to be learned

Okay well this was just a terribly written book. If you're going to title it something like 'the fetishists' then you would expect some kind of sexual element but honestly other than some vague mention of some pet play kinks in the beginning as part of this sex auction it's not really sexual at all... Like it honestly just seems to be a group of people who torture people which doesn't even come close to being a fetish! I was expecting some kind of extreme pain kink or torture kink but it's genuinely just not sexual at all which just seemed like the author doesn't really know much about the kink scene or fetishes. Also as previous people have mentioned the repeating of 'the eighteen year, the bourbon' is seriously just pointless and annoying. I don't mind gore and torture and all of that stuff if it's actually relevent to some kind of story but this genuinely just had no plot and felt like it was written for some kind of shock factor. It's a shame because i think there's definitely a place for more extreme kink based books but things like this give kink books a bad name.

First of all: "This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review."

This book started out weird and got weirder as it went along. The quirky language usage and syntax of the first-person narrator took a little getting used to, but soon I found it quite entertaining. The story is definitely not for the faint of heart. Though if the title and cover art didn't already give that away, then I don't know what to tell you.

The storyline is intriguing and told in an engaging style full of flashbacks. This may drive some people crazy, but it's a style I don't mind at all.

Minor spoiler here: don't expect a tidy happy ending with this one. But again, if the title and the cover art didn't already give that away...

I don't even really want to give this two stars but maybe it's just because i'm annoyed.

I was pretty excited to get into this book. And the first half of it was intense, I loved the back and forth between the night before and the present. but the second half...what the world. Honestly...not even the second half. just that last like 20 pages or so were SO disappointing. and the last page??? don't get me started on the last page. UGH.

well, at least i can say i read it.

No explanation for anything that happens in the story, and the second half drags because we don't know what's going on at any point.
