This is my last Tara Brown book. I give up. Every book I have read has violent jerks as the love interest. Over it.

This was my first Tara Brown book and I found it to be a wild and enjoyable ride with lots of action and hot sex. The story and characters were engaging enough that I for the most part was able to ignore some plot points that didn't make much sense.
Spoiler Example: If the people hiding the scientists were ruthless enough to murder someone who worked for decades to keep their secrets, why did they simply not kill the scientists themselves and eliminate any need for such elaborate secrets and the risk of their creating a world-altering weapon?
Although I found some editing problems like all the extraneous commas somewhat distracting at times, the errors didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the story.

I'll be looking for the next in the series.

Different. Suspend all belief and go along for the ride. It had suspense, sex, humour and gore (not too much or too graphic thankfully). Enjoyed for sheer escapism and got the next in the series. I think it depends on what mood you are in when you read this book as to what your enjoyment level will be.

I L.O.V.E.D this.

I was expecting a light fluffy, soccer mom investigates nefarious goings on at the PTA - shoulda read the blurb more carefully!

Evie is a former CI agent whose husband has died, she finds out that her marriage was a sham, he was shagging anything that didn't stand still. More worrying, he was also an agent for CI but apparently he had been turned. Evie is now being held responsible for his mistakes by EVERYONE!

Can Evie forget hot yoga and the PTA and remember her training? Who can she trust and what is the truth?

Evie is 36 and a mother of two. She is grieving the loss of her marriage and lost in a world she left a decade ago. Yet she brings her 'marital skills' to bear in her interactions with international drug dealers and the alphabet agencies.

There were a few typos but overall - woo-hoo what a great book, funny and grown-up.

Wow. Damn.

I liked this. This is... damn. Really good.

This was different from the books I’ve read because I couldn’t read Gustavo Servario. Like I couldn’t tell what kind of person he was. In all the books I’ve read, I could always tell what type of vibe surrounded a character, but for him... I’m stumped. Legit. I’m shook.

Well... it broke my heart in the end but you know what that means? Book two, baby!

**4-1/2 Stars**

What a wild ride! I love Tara Brown's style of writing--it's refreshing to read something so different! The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because a few areas were disjointed/confusing to me. Still LOVED the storyline and the characters! This is a 9-part series, and I can't wait to read the next one!

Wow, did I enjoy this book! Tara Brown did a fantastic job sucking me right into the story and keeping me up late with a book hangover today! The interactions between all of the characters was a treat. Evie coming back into her own was fun to watch. I loved Coop and how the sparks flew between them. I ended up liking Servario, even though I really didn't want to. What a great story! If you are looking for a book to keep you on the edge of your seat with plenty of steam and great characters, this is the book for you! I can't wait to dive into book #2!!!

This was sitting on my TBR for a while now and I'm a bit peeved that I didn't get to it before. Tara Brown has put herself on my Watch List with this book.

Evie has been made into a widow recently. Her rotten, cheating husband got himself killed and she's left picking up the pieces for their two children. Her world has been rocked but she has to remain strong. Unfortunately, her life is not what it seems. Her husband left her in some big doo-doo and she gets called back into serving with the agency she used to work for, Counter Intelligence (CI), prior to starting her family.

Secrets and betrayals abound. Conspiracies are revealed. Throw in two hot as sin men, one an agency man (Coop) and the other a drug runner/arms dealer (Servario) and this author has created a winner.

I'm a bit twisted but I'm sorta #TeamServario. I think it's because I'm a sucker for the anti-hero and he's definitely that. But I also caught many glimpses of his true heart in this book and I couldn't help falling for this character. Not to mention he was incredibly sexy. But then again, so was Coop. Gosh it's so hard to choose. Can't Evie have them both???
