As much as I enjoyed the BRZRKR comics, this book was just confusing and boring. It was genuinely hard to follow the story because it jumped around in time and place every chapter. I honestly feel like this would have done better as a comic because at least the art would have been something enjoyable to engage with.
Thank you Del Rey for the ARC!

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House/Del Rey for the complimentary digital ARC.
I honestly requested this book when I learned Keanu Reeves was the author. Even though I enjoy science fiction, I do not typically read military thrillers and I'm not familiar with the BRZRKR series. I'm typically drawn to stories with various POV characters and flashbacks or multiple timelines but I almost DNF. I lost interest during the second-person sections in the beginning but decided to stick with it after Diana was introduced. I got some Altered Carbon and Witcher vibes from B. As other reviewers have said, this is not a quick and easy read having to contend with the cerebral elements. I'm glad I finished it and kind of wish I had picked up one of the $100 autographed copies at SDCC. I would check out the film/TV version if this ever gets adapted.

Graphic: Death, Violence, Murder
This book is super intense and trippy. Consider checking the TW list before reading (violence, murder, death).
The story is slow and detailed; for a while, I didn’t know what the plot was, but the characters fascinated me: a US black-ops group and a legend/warrior/god(?) Unute/B. Set in the future, the intensity slowly ramps up as we follow this team, alternating with chapters that introduce you to Unute and his thousands of years of life. Who is he, what’s happening today, and what does it have to do with Unute?
The way everything ties together in the final few chapters is clever, and the story was worth it for me. If you like sci-fi or weird fiction, intense and action-driven novels… I recommend The Book of Elsewhere.
Strange, strange read. Long, winding metaphor that was only clear at some points. BUT we love an old man in crisis so B is still my number one.
Not as much chest-punching as the comics. A bit disappointing in that regard.

I started this book today and I am giving up on it today. It's causing me physical pain to try to follow this plot. The writing is convoluted and making my eyes and brain bleed.
