This was really funny and enjoyable and I really loved the characters. I think they were written nicely. I especially like loved how the 2 main characters had such different personalities yet fit together seamlessly. Other books I've read have struggled to use the age gap trope well without making the relationship weird or disgusting, but in this book the age gap wasn't a big deal yet was still a present feature in the relationship which made the relationship even better. Also, the world building was subtle yet well.

Side note: I was so happy to see more Dante and Gabe. I actually missed them so much.

However, this book was way too long and due to this it felt like a whole lot of nothing happened in the book. For any romance to be 350+ pages (and this was 400+) it needs to have a more events that happen in the storyline which this book just didn't have. Additionally, the writing wasn't the best and even though I don't read romances for fantastic writing, at some parts in the story the writing threw me out of the story and back into reality.

This book was a fun story with enjoyable characters, but it felt like large chunks of it were just recycled bits from the first three books. I did appreciate that these characters at least attempted to communicate and didn't just ghost each other. Despite the casual hookup start to their relationship and the age gap, they probably had the healthiest overall relationship of the series so far.

as much as i’m NOT an age gap girlie, i loved the personal dynamic between russ and liam. i think they had such fun banter throughout the book.
this series is so good and i am obsessed with hockey romances right now.
