I really did enjoy this book. However, such a high bar was placed by TJ Klune with Wolfsong and Ravensong I found it hard to rate Heartsong as highly as the other two. That does not mean I didn’t enjoy it, I absolutely did. I adore Kelly’s character. I think he is the sweetest boy ever and it broke my heart to read this story. I am so thankful that Klune did not take the cliche route and have Robbie switch sides midway through. I don’t think that would’ve done justice to the way these boys love each other. Each book of the Green Creek series describes love in the most beautiful way. It is a feeling yes, but to the Bennetts it is so much more than that. It is the willingness to do anything for the one you love. It is the sheer willpower it takes to fight back against the forces raging against you. It is everything that Robbie and Kelly are, everything that every member of this pack is. In Heartsong, we are able to see how much Robbie and Kelly love each other through their actions. However, I am a romantic at heart, and I want to see every bit of the story and so for me, starting years into their relationship fell a bit flat. The time skip was absolutely the right call for the overall story, however, I just don’t love it for romance’s sake. I felt like I didn’t have as deep of a connection to their relationship as I did for the other couples of the Green Creek series. I loved this book because I love them as characters individually, I just don’t have a connection to them as a couple in the way that I do for Joe and Ox or Mark and Gordo. I am so happy that we got this story though. It did so much for the pack and solidified how strong their bond is even in the face of adversity. After the fractured feelings of Ravensong, I was very happy to experience the mending of the pack in this book. 4/5 stars.

So much pain and hurt, cried some, laughed some. Robbie and Kelly, were beautifully done. Love love love seeing them all, the progression of the story. God they deserve to win.
I loved loved loved this one! I loved the first book in the Green Creek series (Wolfsong). The second book (Ravensong) was good, but I didn’t love it as much as the first. But this one. This one is special. The mystery of the story caught me immediately. I didn’t know for sure when the story began and it took awhile for me to understand the time between the end of book 2 and the start of this book. Once I did, I could not put the book down! I couldn’t wait to see how the story unfolded and what would happen. I loved how Robbie was written and how much his search for answers was palpable as I read. It is a beautiful story of what family means, the ties that keep us together, and the lengths we’ll go to help the people we love. I read this one quickly and seriously, I couldn’t stop reading it. Every spare minute I had, I pulled out my Kindle app so I could read just a bit more. I don’t know what it was about this story, but it is for sure my favorite so far. I’m anxious to read Book 4 next!
