This book was good, but I find that the sequels to Wolfsong haven’t quite captured the same magic. I miss the intense yearning and slow-burning romance that made the first book so captivating. While there’s more action and plot development in the later books, the romance feels less impactful, likely due to the high bar set by Wolfsong.

I was so excited for this one because of the trope but then it just kind of fell a smidge short for me. I wanted more yearning and more time to rebuild the relationship that we got with book 1. I think that’s why Ox/Joe are still my favorite story because we really got that time to get that character growth and these following books were getting more time jumps with less character development. I love LOVE LOVE Kelly and his care and intention with Robbie. And of course that damn man is still alive lol I’m very intrigued on how this series will wrap up.
