Lee Burrows, QB1 for the San Francisco Kingsmen, is in the last year of his contract and wanting to blow this season out of the water to get resigned to the team that’s become his second family. All of that gets put on the back burner when his biggest regret walks through the door as the newest sports therapist for the team, and he’ll do anything in his power to her Shayna Kudrow to forgive him.

Eight years ago Shayna got her heart broken by Lee after learning their relationship was built on a lie—a bet. Now she’s living her dream of being a therapist for an NFL team, and she refuses to let Lee Burrows ruin that for her. Thrust together again thanks to Lee getting injured, the pair mend their issues, and the chemistry that was always between them gets set ablaze.

Unfortunately thanks to a no fraternization policy, Lee and Shayna have to keep their relationship secret or else her job is at stake. Of course shit hits the fan, the pair get outed, and Shayna’s dreams go up in smoke. My biggest gripe was how quickly all this was swept under the rug and then the book just ends with them living happily ever after… Like girl just lost her dream job but it’s fine she’s still got her man

This quick, easy sports romance was fun to read and I enjoyed it. Piper Rayne is always a good time with just enough conflict & spice to keep me entertained throughout. The characters are relatable, and the storyline is engaging.

I was a bit sad when Piper and Rayne's Hockey Hotties series wrapped up recently, but I always look forward to what they come up with next, so I was eager to start their new Kingsmen Football Stars series! I was even more excited when I saw that the series started off with Lee Burrows since we were introduced to him in his brother Kane's book, OFFSIDE WITH #55. I recently read the free novella that introduces this new series to us, FALSE STARTS, so I was very eager to see what would happen to Lee and Shayna in YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE, LEE BURROWS and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Lee and Shayna were both excellent characters—I loved their passion and I really enjoyed seeing how their romance played out, especially after FALSE STARTS as that showed us what happened to them before they got their second chance here. Lee and Shayna had excellent chemistry and I was so happy to see them come together. The only thing that kept me from loving YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE, LEE BURROWS was that it felt like it relied a bit too heavily on the fact that the two characters already loved each other in their past relationship, and I felt like that was explored more in the novella, FALSE STARTS, than it was in the actual book. I did thoroughly enjoy their romance though and thought it was lovely...just wish we got a few more falling in love-type moments rather than just steamy ones (which I'll be honest is rare for me to say haha).

One of my favourite parts about companion series like this one is that we get a whole cast of characters that we'll see over and over again. I loved the introduction that we got to some of Lee's teammates here and to some of the other side characters! I'm looking forward to Brady and Chase's books..and I'm hoping we get a story for Miles, too!!!! I'm also excited that we'll get to see Lee and Shayna in future books. :)

Overall, I thought that YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE, LEE BURROWS was a great start to a new series and I'm excited to see where it goes! As usual with Piper and Rayne's books, it was sweet and steamy, and kept me very entertained! I'd recommend this one to fans of contemporary romance, especially if you like sports romances with football—I do recommend that you pick up the free novella, FALSE STARTS, first though!

Shayna has worked her butt off to get her dream job as a sports therapist for an NFL team.  She is beyond happy to have finally achieved her goal with the San Francisco Kingsman.  There is only one little problem:  Lee Burrows, quarterback for the Kingsmen and one that broker her heart in college.  Lee has always felt that Shayna was the one that got away but he knew it was his fault.  Now that she is back in his life, he isn't going to let her get away again.

First, you need to read false start.  Gives you the backstory on how they went wrong all those years ago in college.  I read it after the fact and wished that I had read it before hand.  Didn't mean I didn't love Lee and Shayna any less because let me tell you I adored them!  These two were so much fun.  Their banter and tension were on point.  I loved their push and pull and when they finally gave in (or shall I say Shayna gave in) to their feelings it was spectacular!  Loved the world building and cannot wait to see where the rest of the Kingsmen take us.

Received this arc!

This was a good second chance romance. I wish there was a little bit more drama with me a second chance, like if he was with another woman or had a buddy when they met again.

But I also understood why she hated Lee for what he did to her in college.

I’m also glad that in the end, we saw the transformation of Lee from being kind of selfish to compromising in the end for love.

I still wanna know who leaked the pictures, but this was very good overall.

I do also wish there was more context in the team meeting with her head doctor. Like why was he so happy about the situation? Because there was no signs earlier that he had a problem with her or him. So how did this situation become so gleeful to him?

Oh well, karma is a b!

You Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows is easily one of my favorite sports romances of the year. Reading False Start, the prequel, I found is necessary to truly understand Shayna's hurt regarding what Lee did to her. The progression of their relationship was so well written and I was hooked throughout the entire book. I did not want the book to end, but I love the set up for the next book.

I loved Lee, he is in love with Shayna from the start of the book, but is willing to be in Shayna's life however she allows. I loved how respectful he was about her feelings and her wishes, but I especially loved when he hit his limits with her, because that made her realize her feelings for him. The push and pull between Lee and Shayna was amazing! I can't wait till the next book!
