The First Kiss by Julia Quinn
-⭐️⭐️⭐️
-enjoyable but very predictable and straightforward
-i never love war/soldier stories so it could be a me thing
-cute little switcheroo on how she was the rich one and he was dirt poor unlike most other hist roms

The Last Temptation by Mia Ryan:
-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
-very steamy
-loved Bella’s live-in-the-moment attitude and her overall sort of ditzy/elusive (not sure if that’s the right word?) character
-always love a he falls first and hard story
-interesting concept of how she was a party planner, I just wish the party theme itself wasn’t so problematic (even though i try to remind myself it takes place in 19th century Britain so not the most politically correct of settings)

The Best of Both Worlds by Suzanne Enoch
-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-idk I just enjoyed it a lot
-rake who falls hard with a ‘plain’ girl who really isn’t that plain

The Only One for Me by Karen Hawkins
-⭐️⭐️
-didn’t like either of the main characters, one of whom had a last name of Throckmorton like bffr
-the reason for why they were estranged was revealed WAY too early like within the first two pages and I didn’t want them to get back together
-WAY TOO MANY DOUBLE NEGATIVES IN HER WRITING
-the brother was kinda funny

Review - The mystery was well done and there wasn't actually too much focus on it within the personal stories. I thought Lady Mathilde's story and the Easterley's story were particularly good. Mathilde was one of my favourite characters in this book, she was so strong faced with an incredibly prideful man. I also loved the Easterley's and their relationship with each other. It was very well done.

Genre? - Historical / Romance / Crime / Mystery

Characters? - Lady Neeley / Mathilde Howard / Lady Easterley / Lord Easterley

Setting? - London (England)

Series? - Whistledown #2

Recommended? - Yes

Rating - 18/20

Only enjoyed the story written by Julia Quinn - the others were noticeably less well written

Light hearted. Like the return of Lady Whistledown's society judgements.
