I'd actually give this book 3 & 1/2 stars it was a fun read that flowed through even though it is an anthology. I liked how all the writers intertwined their stories together.

I’ve been on a historical Romance kick where I just want to find a really good one, hopefully to help me out of my slump. So short stories seemed to be the way to go but I genuinely hated all of the stories.

A collection of stories set in Julia Quinn's universe of Lady Whistledown, the gossip columnist. It centers around a party at Lady Neeley's where a valubale ruby
Julia Quinn's story has a fortune hunter, Peter Thompson, falling in love with an earl's daughter, Tillie Howard. She is the sister of his best friend who was killed in the recent war. There is a disparity in their positions so Peter is reluctant to propose marriage but Tillie doesn't want to wait.
Isabella Martin is Lady Neeley's companion but in Mia Ryan's story, she becomes a party planner who captures the eye of Anthony Doring, Lord Roxbury.
Suzanne Enoch brings us a tale of a girl secretly in love with a rogue. When Charlote Birling finally makes an impression on Lord Matson by defending one of the other suspects, she is elated. But she has to work around her parents who are scared of scandal and not sure if Lord Matson is pursuing her for respectable reasons.
Karen Hawkins wraps up the story of the bracelet with a reunited couple. Lord and Lady Easterly have been separated for twelve years, ever since Sophia's brother cheated and blamed it on her husband. He had to leave London in disgrace but is now back to claim his wife.

Really cute concept for a book and I don't mean that sarcastically. I didn't read the first Whistledown (as it was not as the used book store) but apparently it didn't matter as it was a stand alone book. I was pleasantly surprised by the stories; none were memorable, per se, but they were all entertaining. My biggest compliment was the variety of characters, that's hard to come by sometimes in romance novels.
