I enjoyed this. Quick read. Bit of a Plot twist - what you think you know isn’t the case. Pretty interesting to get the background on Thrawn and Governor Pryce. Lots of familiar characters.

I really loved this book! I listened to the audiobook and I would highly recommend it as there are a lot of sound effects and it really draws you into the story. I loved the character of Thrawn, and it was a good introduction to the character as someone who hasn't watched Rebels. It made me feel so conflicted because although he is part of the empire, I was rooting for him to win?

Overall I recommend this book to anyone that is looking to venture into the literary Star Wars universe and is into bad guys.

God what a cool book. I honestly have not even really seen Thrawn except in Ahsoka... I think he's mostly in Rebels? Loved Thrawn's inner monologue. He's such an interesting character and his motivations being so mysterious is fun to read. Thrawn taking Eli Vanto under his wing was also really cool and seeing him develop. Thrawn's books are so confusing lol I'm not gonna read the original trilogy bc of how un-cannon it is. I don't think this trilogy is technically canon? Close enough though. The newest trilogy tho starts with his Chiss origins and I am fiending for that back story... I've got like 2 million books on my TBR and I want to read them all.

This book is so much fun! The characters are well developed, you really feel like you get to know them. I love Thrawn as a character and seeing how he interacts with people. There's art, military tactics, politics, this book has it all. And it sets up the next book perfectly.
