This was soooo good. Thrawn scares the heck out of me, but he's also so fascinating. Overall this felt like one really long Rebels episode. Seeing how Pryce becomes Governor of Lothal; seeing Yularen; and even Tarkin - who is bone chilling. Also, I know it wasn't what Eli wanted at first, but I really liked his development and comradery with Thrawn.
Most of all though: Palpatine gardens. Palpy designed the gardens. Obsessed.

A compelling read about the origins of Grand Admiral Thrawn that also gives an intriguing insight into the inner-workings of the Empire. Thrawn and Vanto give me the vibes of a (somewhat evil and corrupt) Sherlock and Watson of a galaxy far, far away, and I can’t wait to read the next two books in the trilogy! The only complaint I had is that it’s a little bit slow in some places but apart from that it has a good pace.
