Tandem read. Probably my most fav reading journey. These characters & the beautiful magic are teaching me things about life. 7 down, 1 more to go!

Nice cliffhanger at the end to lead into the final book about Aelin.
I was wondering why there was no mention of Chaol but then read online he appears in the kingdom of ash
If you are not super into the series/ short on time I have heard of people doing a tandem read of book 6 and 7. After reading book 7, I feel there was a bit of overlap between information on the Valg and stuff!
Loved our 3 women’s story lines converging - Elide, Manon and Aelin. And how people she met in her previous books - Ansel and the Silent Assassin's - have come to her to help.
Sex scenes ramp up in this book - especially since it’s Rowan and Aelin’s first time together. I didn’t feel as much tension in their lead up compared to Feyre and Rhysand in ACOTAR. Nevertheless, it was interesting to reminisce on Aelin’s and Chaol’s time together, as their scenes weren’t as detailed. Guess it’s because they were mates…
I think this might be a thing in SJM series but all our main character seem to couple off - good for them and as long as they are all interesting it is fine (this one certainly was) - it’s all a bit too good to be true and I guess you can’t give all of them the same amount of time and attention compared to the MC’s romance.
During the war, a few people came into save the day and some nice twists towards the end.
I was a bit confused when Lorcan and Gavirel get stripped of their blood oaths. They feel guilty at that moment but nothing devastatingly bad happens like them coming close to dying. Forgive me if I am wrong but I imagined that situation coming with more consequences… maybe that’s something we don’t find out until Kingdom of Ash!

My. Heart. Hurts. So. Good.

No way!

Ok i think this is my favorite book of the series! Drama? Soooo much! Romance and even more romance with the most unlikely people? Oh yeah! Action and a whole lot of secrets come out in this one!the ending left me with my jaw on the floor and dying to buy the next one!

The best of the series so far. Much more action and emotion than the previous books. Read in tandem with TOD, which I’ve enjoyed a lot.

However, if I have to read about someone’s toes curling one more time, I might revolt.
