I can always count on Talia Hibbert to give me a book with a great balance of sweet and steamy!

Chloe was a great heroine: strong, complex, prickly but deeply loving. Red was Chloe’s opposite in some ways — a sweet, golden retriever of a man who always has a kind word for everyone — but alike in that he is also dealing with trauma from his past. I loved that he was so caring and attentive to Chloe’s chronic illnesses and willing to apologise for his mistakes. They made a great complement to each other and worked well together as a couple. The last conflict felt a bit contrived and unnecessary but I think that about 99% of third-act breakups, so... that’s probably a me thing.

Talia Hibbert writes some of the best sex scenes out there. Utterly consensual, hot, tender... She could do a masterclass.

I adored the sibling relationship between Chloe and her sisters and can’t wait to read their stories!

I could not even BEGIN to express how much I love this book. Chloe is such a sweet, cute character, and oh my GOD Redford Morgan may be the sexiest romcom love interest I have EVER read. I’m always wary of interracial romances involving white people but Red somehow managed to be the One True Cishet Sble-Bodied White Man and I loved him endlessly. He’s sweet and wonderful but also just dangerous and edgy enough to be really REALLY sexy. I found Chloe so relatable and I loved the descriptions of her as a grump so fucking funny. As a disabled person myself, her independent streak really resonated with me. The way she makes deals to make sure she’s not dependent on anyone outside her immediate family, and her growth toward letting friends in (and boyfriends). Also her sense of style is adorable. Much as I love Red I do picture the two of them as that Barbie/Lego man meme. It’s what’s on the inside that counts I suppose. I’m really just rambling at this point but please know I am rereading my favorite parts and I have no complaints about this book whatsoever. What an absolutely perfect book.

I would be remiss not to mention that I read this as an audiobook and the audio performer fucking BODIED this book. They changed readers for the next two books and I am delaying starting the next one for precisely that reason. The way she managed to make Red and Chloe sound so different that I was completely immersed immediately. Also her voice for Red? Fucking SEXYYYYY. 10/10.

This was a lovely feel-good rom com. I had a great time. I haven't read too many steamy novels but this was decent. The step scene...10 out 10 for smut. I loved both Chloe and Red. Chloe's character really grew on me. The start was very dramatic BUT I think it may have been good writing in that what Chloe felt is what someone would feel after a near-death experience but I can't lie it took a little bit for me to really get into the story. Red on the otherhand is the sweetest. I loved his character and I love how well they fit together. All in all good read and excited to follow the other sisters.
