Don't read this review if you intend to read the book or if you don't agree with my rating bc I'm really angry right now and I'm going to rant - a lot. This is just how I feel right now, and my opinion of the characters can offend people who loved them.
Ellie was sooo damn stupid. After doing that stupid thing, she had the galls to get angry at the H for saying that she was stupid even though she knew that she was. And she couldn't even admit that which made me hate her. I would have hated her more if Paul had got to her. Don't know how to feel about that. I feel kinda robbed. Bc she deserved it after that stupid move by running away bc she was jealous and came to the wrong conclusion. That act just made me sooo angry.
And as a character? She was boring. Too nice, to understanding, too docile, too plain. She forgave Charlie too easily. Well yeah, it was right and it was fair but it was still too fast? Same with the H, he felt guilty bc he was the reason she got taken in the first place. Yes, yes I know it wasn't really his fault. Forgiven and forgotten, but she wasn't even a little bit resentful. It came off as too easy to her. She didn't blame anyone or anything. She's too damn good and I needed a little bit more after everything she went through. Where's the anger? The hate? Something? Anything?
Next point, I just didn't feel their love and connection. The backflashes just served the purpose to show us how they began and how the H fucked up.
The ending also left too many questions open. Who was Paul? No more background information on him? Just kill him and be done? Everyone's happy? Just like hat? What about her memory? I thought I could read it without the other books, but to know more about whether the h gets back her memories or not I'd have to read the next one. And I won't. Nope.

Could not believe that I could finish this book in just one sitting under 3 hours trip from my home to my university.
It was that good. Could not wait fot Lincoln's story now.
