I waited YEARS for this book and it was sooo worth it!! The ending that we’ve all been waiting for and I could t be happier😁
The Seeds of America Trilogy is outstanding and this last book in the series was excellent. So well written and researched.
This trilogy is a thing of beauty and worth the long wait while LHA had family and medical issues. All of her books are fantastic, but this one has a special place in my heart for such memorable characters and making historical fiction accessible for young people.
Isabel and Curzon continue to fight for their freedom.
For years, Isabel has been searching for her lost sister Ruth and Curzon finally agrees to help. While they search, the revolutionary war continues to wage on, and Isabel and Cruzon are conflicted. Curzon desperately wants to become a soldier again, yet Isabel cannot understand how he would continue to risk his life for “freedom for one, not freedom for all.” It’s not until Ruth, who is finally reunited with Isabel, that enlightens Isabel to the possibilities. She shows Isabel how to open her heart and see the love that has always been there, not just with Curzon but also with a country that has become a home.
Such a great ending to a wonderful series. The third book picks up from where the second left off and the reader is once again reunited with Isabel as the main character. Isabel has grown much since the first book, and it felt like meeting an old but new friend. The entire series was so well written, from the history, to the camaraderie between characters, to the hope that they finally obtain their freedom. A great read for any age and highly recommended.

A fine enough conclusion to the series. I was a bit less engaged in this one than the last two. Overall it is well written and seems advanced for a middle grade novel.
Vivid telling of historical events, good wrap up to the story.
A beautiful end to a well told historical fiction account of the Revolutionary War. Isabel and Curzon finally find Ruth in Georgia and make their way North to Rhode Island with a new friend, Aberdeen, in tow. Before long, the company gets thrown back into the war and finds themselves outside Yorktown and in the midst of the final turning point of the war. A happy end for Isabel and Curzon as well as Ruth.
You always know when picking up a Laurie Halse Anderson book that it's going to be worth the time it takes to read it, and you can't say that for many authors.
