Is an absolute must read if you have read the first two.. you will be happy you did :)

Nice to see Ruth come into her own in this tidy, final installment of the series.

Loved this trilogy - I had a few moments of “good lord, not *another* setback” while reading the third book, but overall I really enjoyed it. I fell in love with the characters and loved soaking up all the history.

I really enjoyed this finale to the Seeds of America trilogy. There is true sadness in this series, but there is also some hope and inspiration. We know that many slaves and former slaves fought in the Revolution, but they were not generally freed until the Civil War, so freedom for our heroine and hero was not a given. And yet, despite their struggle, you can feel the hope in their voices. I highly recommend this series for any age.

Good conclusion to the story.

This book was much better than the second and gives Chains a run for its money. I really enjoyed finally getting the Curzon relationship settled. I loved this series and can’t wait to look at the accuracy to see if it would be a good read aloud while I teach about the American Revolution.

What a powerful book, opening your eyes to the reality of black lives in the beginnings of the United States. This is an incredible read for kids to open their minds to multiple views on history. Can't recommend it enough to give it its full due.
