Mayer I just took to long to read it and forgot what I’d previously read. I just never really felt super engaged in this book

Oh God how bored I was reading this! I don't like to put books aside without finishing them but I was so close with this one. Yeah it has a message but that's it. The plot drags, everything seems pretentious to be deep and mysterious, the dynamic between the protagonist and his wife. This book is for boomers who like to enjoy some wannabe deep book to start conversations with to act like they're the intelligent one. You have to put your brain aside to enjoy this thing. And THE ENDING??? The dog chase? The protagonist finding others like him who have read books? BORING
