If you are expecting a book about Joe Trohman’s experience in Fall Out Boy, this book will disappoint you, as this is very much about Joe Trohman the person who happens to be a guitarist in Fall Out Boy. That being said, Joe Trohman comes across as a really lovely and interesting person in his memoir. It is clear in his writing how much he adores being a dad and his creative endeavors. I really liked learning about his upbringing, too, and how his own childhood shaped his life and his parenting. Overall, definitely recommend!

I loved the insight into Joe's life and way of thinking despite the heartbreaking stories he has to tell about his childhood and his place in Fall Out Boy. I thought the book was great and read it very quickly. My only complaints are that there is occasionally information repeated chapter to chapter as if this is a series of blog posts where someone is only starting to read in chapter 5 and 2 unnecessary rape jokes.
Graphic: Suicidal thoughts, Antisemitism, Emotional abuse, Car accident, Drug use, Drug abuse, Bullying, Cancer, Chronic illness, Mental illness, and Child abuse
Moderate: Pandemic/Epidemic and Dysphoria
Minor: Animal death and Rape

Listening to Joe narrate the book is the best way to experience this I think.
