I was surprised my how much I enjoyed this- the full cast really helped my comprehension. I also loved that it was a murder mystery! I knew the story well but had never read it- this story telling structure was so engaging and succinct.

A fantastic tragedy and a true classic. There is a reason Aristotle found Oedipus to be the preeminent tragic hero and the themes found in this book would influence so much throughout history.

This was okay, but I'd like to read it again in a different translation and a more independent setting to let it all soak in better. I thought Oedipus was an idiot, and I don't understand how Aristotle thought this was the epitome of tragedy. So, I'd like to give it another shot sometime. But for now, I wasn't all that impressed.
