Listened to the audiobook.

Overall it was...strange. There were a couple moments - with Jocasta, I think, that I loved. And the 'Chorus: Strophe - Antistrophe' stuff sounded unbelievably awesome. All in all though, I just thought it was overly dramatic. Maybe it's supposed to be. Don't know.

OEDIPUS: And who could stay his choler when he heard How insolently thou dost flout the State? TEIRESIAS: Well, it will come what will, though I be mute.

The speech between Teiresias and Oedipus really does hit different when you know what's to come.

Well.
It is clear to me that thinking I knew the story because of what I heard of Freudian interpretations was incorrect. I didn’t really know the story.
I also think either I did not understand Freud’s interpretation or Freud did not understand Sophocles’s story. Maybe both.
It is less weird and more tragic than I’d realized.

Some scary things going on.

Everyone knows the story, but it's as depressing as you'd imagine. Good read if you're looking for something philosophical, but not a light one.
