This was such a sweet book that tackled so many important topics and I cannot recommend it highly enough!!!

Both Hani and Ishu were really sweet characters and I liked reading about them a lot, as I could find different aspects of myself in both of them. However, Hani was a bit infuriating at times, because she was a rather passive person and only started acting proactive towards the very end. Their relationship was also adorable but occasionally needed some more communication.

My biggest quarrel with the book is that the ending felt pretty rushed and I would have loved for it to be a bit longer or for there to be an epilogue which tied up the story with Ishu and her parents.

The book incorporates a plethora of important topics such as being from a minority ethnicity and being from a minority religion in a predominantly white Christian country, being burdened by parental expectations, subtle racism, biphobia, and more.

I will definitely think about this book for a while and pick up more of the author’s work because I absolutely loved how she incorporated so many relevant topics into a sweet and short story without it feeling unnatural or forced and again, if you are looking for a queer story with some Bengali and Muslim representation, I highly recommend this one!
