cannot believe that was only 88 pages. how did she manage to fit all of that within 88 pages? her mind and her thoughts genuinely fascinate me. this is definitely one of those books where everyone can relate to or identify with at least one passage. can’t wait to reread this one and annotate it omg

Okayyyy you got me Lispector !
“You will have, as in the calm dream of a calm night, have run with the resin down the tree trunk. Afterwards you will say: I dreamt nothing. Will that be enough? It will.”
Constantly felt like I had to do snaps after each line
I think months of reading artist manifestos really prepared me for this and let me have an open mind to it, definitely just art with words, don’t expect a story from this as that is NOT what she is trying to do
I imagine the more times you read this - the more you’ll love it

wow. thought provoking, reflective, and incredibly well written. i have a ton of emotions to process after reading this. what a beautiful piece of literature. there was something so haunting and yet comforting in the anecdotes about existence and nothingness that this author so bluntly expresses. there is no hand holding you through this one - just an honest stream of conscience that explores a lot of the questions we ask ourselves about our purpose in this world, about our worth, about death. incredible incredible incredible.

Read this for a third time for an essay and it just gets better each time ❤️‍

This was my first time reading Lispector. I enjoyed the prose but I did find it difficult to read at times.
I will definitely read her other books.
