I had to read it for school and it was boring untill one of the characters died. Luke spent the whole book just thinking about going to Jen's house and sitting around. And at the end it leaves you on a very tiny cliff hanger that doesn't even make you want to read the next book.

Quick and easy read for an adult. I thought it was an interesting twist on the projected future. I am definitely interested in reading the next one.

This book has stuck with me for years. I read it during a time when I would read anything I could get my hands on. But this series has always been in the back of my mind since. At that point I hadn’t even heard of laws on childbirth. It was a crazy ride of making me question what I would do to help others if this ever came to my home.

Good themes for discussion, but terrrrrible writing, and a bit dated.

This book was interesting and hard to put down. The author had great suspense and now I want to read the rest of the series

I enjoyed this whole series and I particularlly enjoyed this book, which was a great introduction to this world. Haddix is a great children's and YA author that creates good suspense, and intense worlds in her novels.
emotional sad tense fast-paced

Introduced my students to dystopian Literature and boy did they love it.

This book is well-written and becoming more relevant each day

One of my favorites as a kid ; still great as an adult
