What in the actual Sam Hill was this book? Horrifyingly disturbing, page after page. If this hadn't been for book club, this would have been a DNF for me.

This book was simply okay, which is disappointing since it has received such great reviews from so many people. I didn’t particularly like any of the characters and the story never fully grabbed me. After looking over some of the reviews on here, this actually seems to be a book that people either love or hate, so I suppose I’m not too surprised that I didn’t find it to be all that great.
On the surface this book has it all. On the pages, once you get past the shock value, it doesn’t really have anything.

Whoa. The writing is fantastic. But did I enjoy it? Not really. It was much too dark for me. Dark and wildly colorful. I can totally see how this could be someone else’s favorite novel.
