It took me three years to decide that I hated it.

Okay, what the fuck? It took me a little over two weeks to finish reading this book, not because I didn’t like it but because it mostly made me uneasy. I didn’t always want to read it and feel that way. This story will definitely stick with me for better or for worse. The writing was remarkable, I was engrossed in it despite these strange characters. Not sure I could recommend this one to many folks but if someone wants something weird, deranged, and a bit gross then I’d check this out.

I wanted to love this book more than I ended up liking it. I struggled to read more than a few pages at a time and it ended up taking like 6 weeks to read.

I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it. I probably wouldn’t recommend it.

I think that the story kind of gets lost in the world building if that makes sense? We meet these characters and we start to see them all connecting but it becomes sort of a slog in the middle. I really started picking up pace as we got toward the last 30 % of the book. It finally felt like it was starting to build towards something.

I don’t really understand the ending to the Binewski timeline. Like where do the explosion come from? If that’s discolored it went over my head.

The ending also felt odd? I undesyand why Olympia did what she did but it some how felt disconnected.

Overall I am glad I read it because it’s been on my tbr so long. I would love to discuss it with someone to see if I can unpack some of the things that don’t make sense. However I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this one.

It sounds great in theory, I think either I didn’t really get the execution.

I just wasn't enjoying reading this. I'm going to come back to it in audiobook form and try again.
