My real rating was a 4.5. It was so much better than the other books I've been reading lately. The plot was there, the tension was there, it was a decent enemies to lovers, I have to say that I really enjoyed reading it.
The dialogue was a little cringe, the two main characters were a little cringe but each of their storylines were really good. I appreciated that the mystery subplot was fleshed out and made sense contiguously with the rest of the narrative.
Towards the end I was like wrap it up y'all. But other than that it slayed and I will be looking into reading the other two books in the series.

I’ve been team Suit Daddy since the very beginning and after I finished TWHFTL I had to read this book immediately.

This book was EVERYTHING!! I absolutely loved this grumpy x sunshine, childhood frenemies to lovers that this book had going on. I love when the FMC is a bookworm and Sloane was just amazing. Lucian Rollins though had me on my knees. The way this man cared for Sloane, how protective he was of her had me HOOKED.
