I really wanted to love this book, but the writing style just wasn’t for me. I did absolutely love the strong family component of the book, especially Nishat’s relationship with her sister Priti.

This was a very sweet debut novel by Adiba Jaigirdar. I appreciated how passionate Nishat was about her culture and how courageous she was to own her sexuality and believe in herself. I did, at times, find Nishat a bit annoying, but I also found her relatable. Coming out can be so hard, especially when you’re not sure whether your family will accept you. I definitely relate to the feeling of finally wanting to live your truth and wanting to share that truth with the people you love. On another note, I adored Nishat’s sister, Priti. She was so supportive, caring, protective, and loving toward her sister. Their relationship was defiantly a highlight of the book. Overall I enjoyed this read and would recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet, lighthearted, queer romance!
