Good to spend time with Maisie and the crew. Lots of interesting details about London during the Blitz.

The 15th book in the series, and still very good!

Maisie Dobbs is just one of my favorite mystery series! Winspear does a fabulous job of incorporating the time and place. This book takes place during the Blitz of London and you really get a feel for what that might have been like.

Definitely not one of my favorite Maisie books. The setting was interesting but I wasn't engaged with the characters as usual, and I am not a fan of the new love interest.

4.5 stars. Maisie Dobbs books are never an easy read, but always a very good read, and this one set during the London Blitz is no exception.

In a long series like this, some books are wire between the poles and some books are deep and tall, and carry the narrative weight. This book is a pillar. So many things happen within this novel that will be critical to the character and plot development of the next (I hope!) several seasons of Masie Dobb's life. Everybody grows in this book. The feels are extreme, the situations intense, the hope fierce.

Loved it. Very much looking forward to the next one.

Love this series. This book moved a little slow but picked up the pace on the last quarter of the book. On to read the last book!

Excellent! Sweet, sad wartime story. Page-turning mystery. A touch of romance.
