Maybe it's because the other book I'm reading isn't totally grabbing me, and maybe it's because I usually like the Maiden Lane series, but this was the best one in a while. It helped that Phoebe had be around for a while as well as Trevillion (although not necessarily with each other).

It maybe got a hair on the ridiculous side how many times Phoebe managed to get kidnapped, but I guess that makes for better plot moving.

Plus, I can't complain about the many steamy scenes.

Rounded up from 4.5

The chemistry between the two leads was absolutely amazing... I LOVE Pheobe, I love Agnes and I absolutely ADORE James... (also even tho their parts aren't too big, I utterly love the staff in the book... especially Phoebe's butler and staff) Everything about this book was amazing...
BUT the kidnapping bit as well as Eve and her brother's plot felt quite unnecessary and just took away from the main plot and so it didn't hit as hard as it could have...
Don't get me wrong... it slapped... it totally did but I'd say it slapped 95% and the 5% was stolen by the unnecessary bits

I really liked this. It’s funny, the author handles the heroines disability well, and the chemistry is real. I don’t usually like age gap but I gave it a pass because this was a fun ride.

I never thought I would say this, but there is actually too much sex -at least too early and at bizarre times, in this book.

Ladies and gents, we are back in it! And in TROPE CITY in all the best ways. I loved Phoebe & James’ slowburn, forced proximity, he falls first, age gap, bodyguard story, and that doesn’t even scratch the surface of all the Just One Bed AND Just One Horse scenes. Plus can we have more everybody is disabled stories? I loved how they both had to learn how to navigate each other’s  disabilities respectfully. And even though Phoebe gets kidnapped seriously more than once and he does have to save her, she never felt like a damsel to me.
