I don’t remember how far I got exactly but I DNFed because I thought it was weird of the characters to be doing certain acts while the kids are literally in front of them watching a movie lol it happened not once, but twice

This is a prime example of why editors and proofreaders are essential to publishing.

I loved this book. The only negative I have is that I wish it went on forever. I was entertained the entire time, and I loved the relationships in this book. For once I wish I was more like a character, Brielle. She was so funny and fantastic with kids. I just loved this so much. I'll be buying it and rereading it sooner rather than later.

I was fine with the angst, the secret relationship, etc until the end. She forgave him waaaayyyyyy too quickly and it went from zero to 120 mph in 3 sentences it felt like. Blah. I also didn’t really enjoy the epilogues, but I always have issues with babies and books and normally I don’t mind them in the epilogues, but this one’s drama revolved around babies so it stuck differently in the epilogues for me.

Overall, I enjoyed Julian’s and Brielle’s chemistry. Brielle sometimes was not my cup-of-tea, but I kind of just dealt with it. Julian’s attitude was stinky sometimes towards her, but I’m really happy she stuck up for herself each time and let him know. Sure, she forgave fairly quickly each time, but that’s some of the angst for you. I liked Brielle and the kids and Julian’s mom too. The spice is very good and I enjoyed a lot of it. It’s kind of cute too in ways on how they have date night.

While this is an age-gap, single dad book, the single dad is the only thing that really comes up. He’s rich, but we BARELY touch upon where his money comes from the family business and his issues with the family business. This book is really about his previous marriage and his commitment issues. This is not a grieving widow type of book at all.

Overall, a good, easy to read, spicy contemporary romance.

I didn’t enjoy it as much as The Bonus but the heroine was such a fun character and I love a happy ending.
