I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I was going to dnf this book until about 40% of the way through, but it really picks up after that. Willow and Sam were the book's superstar characters.
Okay, you will truly hate this hero at first, as is common for this author. Brielle was amazing. She's hot, sassy, and has a crazy sense of humor. I admired her concern for Julian and his family. The sex scenes in the book were quite hot, and there was also a good amount of angst.
The back and forth was tiresome, but I forgave it since they were two complicated and messy characters, much like reality.
Some of the things in the book made me cringe. The relationship between Bri and the children, on the other hand, was my favorite factor of the book for me, and it was wonderful how beautifully it grew and developed.

You know what, sometimes it’s such an effort to write reviews because I have so much I want to say but can’t find the words. Annoying, I know and so I’m going to keep this one short. I mainly wrote a lot just so when I come back, I can see what I was thinking but I just can’t be bothered right now. I apologise in advance to my future self for keeping this brief.
Onto the review! I loved this book in patches. It’s the first four star book I’ve read in a while and I am quite generous when I give out stars but I’ve also been tremulously lucky to thoroughly enjoy all the books I’ve been reading lately.
Brell with Willow & Samuel was such a highlight. Their first bonding session at the golf course was really sweet and just captured the feelings of pure freedom.
Julian & Brell were cute and steamy and I really shipped them but they were so fucking problematic. Whenever things between them were going good something completely ridiculous would happen and they’d burst out into these over dramatic fights. Though some I found hilarious.
I really sympathise with Will because those motherfucking bitches at her school deserved jail time. That they even suggested her mom would kill herself because of Willow is spiteful and disrespectful. She really came a long way in this story which I really enjoyed.
If Brell & Julian weren’t fighting so much and if Julian wasn’t making the most dickhead-known-decisions-to-mankind, then I wouldn’t have been so drained of this book. They were so soft when they would be open and loving.
So, that’s a wrap, can’t really continue to say more. It was a quality book, I just wasn’t having the drama this time LOL.

“I’ve done nothing wrong.”
“Unfucking believable. You have the emotional intelligence of a fish.”

I enjoyed it, spicy, had a laugh, felt torn. Grumpy older widow with kids (loved Willow & Samuel) Affected by his past. Australian nanny Brielle. Funny, feisty, a breath of fresh air for the family. Loved Frances (Julian's Mum).
I enjoyed this book, but I felt like there was just so much back and forth and it felt longer than it needed to be because of that. Definitely enjoyed the spiciness! Just felt drug out a bit.

Cookie Cutter
The writing was good but it was way too predictable to me. Nanny falls in love with widowed boss… same old same. The nanny was prefect and had no flaws… It was all too cookie cutter for me.
