I think he pissed me off too much!

What a great way to start a new author. I couldn’t put this book down and did a hard fast 24 hour read. The angst was tops and the storytelling and spice was right there. So so soooo good!

this was pwp with the worst plot

Was obsessed!

Was absolutely obsessed that I read in under 48 hours. Highly recommend for anyone who loves romance with a side of erotica.

This book was bad. In simple words: BAD. Disgusting. I can’t believe the same author wrote one of my favourite books, The Stopover. The writing is bad, the characters are bad, the pacing is bad. BAD BAD BAD. I think I lost brain cells reading this.

I was expecting some sort forbidden and angsty attraction with a lot of tension. Instead I got a 25 year old and a 40 year old talking like immature teenagers. I was surprised at how juvenile their dialogues were. And Bree! My gosh. She’s one of the most stupid heroines ever. How could she talk to Willow like that for the first time. She was child for god’s sake! For a grown up woman who is an engineer, she sure doesn’t act like one. I hated her. I wanted her to change, thought something would happen and she’d become a better character but no. She became worse! Bree was supposed to be a fun and quirky character but she seemed like a total loser.

Don’t get me started on Julian. He didn’t seem like a successful man with a career and wealth the way he acted and talked. I hated his conversations with his friends. They talked so explicitly about their sexual encounters like they were fumbling teenagers in high school. I didn’t like that at all. Also hated the way he acted with Bree. Suddenly he became attracted to her and now screw her seven days to Sunday? He arranged a meeting place for them to meet and hook up there. Ughh. Julian is possibly one of the worst heroes ever. He is selfish, ignorant and a bad father. He avoided his children, hardly talked to them, didn’t even care what they did! The book might make him seem like a damaged man raising two children alone and that should make me pity him right. Absolutely not! He didn’t put any effort to be there for his children, only reprimanded them. The ending of the book tried to make him a great father but he was not one at all. It was bullshit.

Let’s talk about the chemistry between the characters. Oh my bad. There was none. No connection between them. They were physically attracted to each other. But hey the hell did they fall in love? I don’t get where that came from. The love scenes were just bad and boring. I wasn’t interested at all. I just wanted it to end but no, it went on and on and on. Making it even more stupid. So Julian doesn’t want children? He decided to get a vasectomy. He loved Bree but won’t marry her. He was an absolute mess! They also fumbled around under a blanket while they watched movies with the children! Un-freakin-believable.

I didn’t know where the book was going. What was the plot? I lost track trying to keep up with all the nonsense.

The secondary characters were just as bad. I was looking forward to reading about Spencer and Sebastian but how can I even continue knowing how immature their conversations and actions are? Huh, and thy are supposed to be grown up 40 year old men. Everything sucked in this book. I hated it! I’m so disappointed! I wanted some forbidden connection. Some good romance. Why?? Why?? I’m so freakin disappointed! The only reason I kept reading was because I was waiting for something to happen. Something that would make the plot and the characters better. Did it? NO.

I can’t believe T.L. Swan wrote this. The Stopover was fun, witty and sexy. With great and mature characters who, yes they were frustrating but they knew how to act like adults and solve the problems when it was required. But this one, I can’t even…

In a nutshell, the writing was choppy, the dialogues were cringey, the characters were stupid, immature and underdeveloped, the plot was nonexistent, and finally you’re gonna wanna rip off your hair in frustration.
