Volume One was mostly corny. Volume Two had some srsly scary stories. Volume Three was very well put together and had a couple of genuinely good and eerie stories.

Those illustrations though. Ten out of ten to Gammell. Gonna go have nightmares now bye.

I absolutely adored this book! Such a great read, especially since it's October too! I loved all the little scary stories and all of the not so scary stories. I was sucked in to this book from the first line. I was in suspense the whole time, I couldn't read fast enough. I love the glossy cover and the drawings in the book are fantastic too. I knew of some of the Urban Legends/ Stories but it was so great to read them.

Anyone who loves spooky, quirky and ghoulish books will love this. I highly recommend it. 5 stars!!

This was an ok collection of scary stories. The stories themselves were a lot more child friendly than I was expecting but the illustrations are what really boosted the rating for me.

Most of the stories followed the same formula, man/woman sees some supernatural entity and then they disappear never to be seen or heard from again. Or man meets woman, gives her something, man discovers woman is actually dead and her ghost is wearing whatever he gave her.The best stories are the ones that didn't follow this formula. My favourites were:

1. The Big Toe
2. Me Tie Dough-Ty Walker
3. The Hearse Song
4. The Girl who Stood on a Grave
5. Room for One More
6. The Viper
7. Aaron Kelly's Bones
8. The Bride
9. The Drum
10. The Bed by the Window
11. The Dead Man's Hand
12. The Bad News
13. The Appointment
14. Like Cat's Eyes
15. Harold
16. Such Things Happen
17. Sam's New Pet
18. Maybe You Will Remember
19. The Red Spot
20. You May Be Next

Overall,

⭐⭐⭐.5
