The art style was nice, but it was laced with a lot of Christian guilt which isn't exactly something I enjoy reading, considering I am also of the LGBT+ crowd and have a father who used to be a pastor. The ending was kind of upsetting too. I'm not sure if this is a series or not, but I definitely wouldn't read on after this book.

Very relatable to anyone who was young in the early oughts. Written in an amazing style reminiscent of Alex Robinson's "box office poison", assides are added to make the world seem extremely full to contrast with the characters lonlyness. Great read but doir ending.
Art is phenomenal and the story was interesting. I'm not sure about that ending though. I also wasn't quite sure about the random side-stories spread throughout that took page space away from the main four girls. The side stories didn't seem to interact with theirs so I wasn't sure why they were there.
Overall though, I enjoyed it if I ignore the ending. Art was A++++.

A coming of age story that reflects the heartbreak everyone experiences as a teenager. Friendships, romance, trying to figure out who you are and what you like: it all comes out against a backdrop of religious indoctrination and everyday childhood trauma. The artwork is excellently crafted, using a wide variety of gutter transitions you don't typically see in American comics. It also uses multiple narrative techniques to share character details and advance the story in a fluid, flexible way. Overall, its layered methods create an engaging and heartfelt book.
