This book is a coaching guide for academic librarians to encourage them to move out of the historical "reference desk librarian" stereotype and into embedded situations within the curriculum. What Reale suggests, relationship building with the faculty, creating a plan for library collaboration and being clear as to your role, and asserting yourself professionally, will be encouraging to the novice librarian, but not exactly groundbreaking news to those of us who have been in the field for some years. Her central message is that it is incumbent on academic librarians to change the perception of our role on campus and redefine our brand.
