Not a such a mystery as I anticipated. I would still put it in a police procedural cross with ghost story. I loved the ABQ atmosphere and happened to read it while I was in the city. The city from the view of a native who grew up near the city and lived there was SO different from a tourist seeing it for the first time.

I look forward to more books from this author and hopefully more in this series too.

This was such a beautifully written, gripping story. I think this might be the one that convinced me I actually do enjoy character-driven books. I loved it even though it was on the slower side of pacing, which isn’t common for me. This is a standout book!
